Giving Tuesday is tomorrow, so I want to share what gives me hope during uncertain times like these.

Right now, the foundational principles of democracy are being challenged. And it would be easy to give into fear and despair.

But all around the world, young people are taking initiative and finding creative ways to solve some of the toughest challenges our communities are facing. And through our work with The Obama Foundation, Michelle and I have been fortunate to connect with many of them.

These young people make up the next generation of changemakers, and they’re not waiting for anyone to hand them the baton—they’re rolling up their sleeves and getting to work, one community at a time.

That’s why Michelle and I started The Obama Foundation, to help a new generation of leaders and changemakers build a better future.
