The–right now, 100 college students are traveling the world and connecting with new communities as a part of the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service. Each Voyager has designed their immersive work travel experience to help them deepen their understanding of their chosen field and give them a glimpse of what their career in public service could look like after they graduate. Today, we’re taking you on a virtual world tour to introduce you to some of this year’s participants and give you a taste of the Summer Voyages they’re on right now! Health care, criminal justice reform, and education are some of the top public service issues Voyagers are focusing on in the United States. Voyager Spotlight  Name: Henry Stephens IV School: Duke University Major: Sociology Destination: Washington, D.C. Henry is focused on reducing barriers to economic equality. As a volunteer with the Council Office of Racial Equity in Washington, D.C., he analyzes how proposed legislation may impact historically marginalized communities’ upward mobility across the district.
